Handheld Education for Public History
Handheld Education for Public History (HEPH) proposes to leverage innovative mobile platforms for Android phone to create a platform for the ingestion, display, and dissemination of public history materials related to “Slavery and the Origins of the University of South Carolina”. HEPH intends to construct a mobile platform to allow these narratives to be easily delivered to the public within a carefully constructed and contextually mediated project developed by Dr. Robert Weyeneth, Professor of History and Director of the University of South Carolina Public History Program, Dr. Jennifer Guiliano, Associate Director of the Center for Digital Humanities and Research Assistant Professor of History at the University of South Carolina, Kate Foster Boyd, Digital Collections Librarian for the University of South Carolina Libraries, and Elizabeth West, Archivist for the University of South Carolina Library.
